FAQ

Will CBT work for me?

Every client is different. Evidence indicates, however, that CBT is effective in treating a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, OCD, eating disorders, phobias, PTSD, psychosis etc. As the therapist and client begin working together, they can discuss what the client is comfortable with and what they feel is proving most valuable to their progress. Having said that, CBT, or any therapy for that matter, can only succeed if the client is committed to the process.

How many sessions in total will I need?

Again, no two clients are the same. To ensure the best possible outcome, I would usually advise a minimum of 6 sessions.  These sessions normally take place on a regular weekly basis . A client and therapist can determine this as they go along.

Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?

Please refer to consultation hours. The latest appointment I offer is 6pm on a Tuesday, however, I am sometimes able to be flexible.

Do I have to sign up to multiple appointments?

No, at no point will you be expected to commit to, or pay for multiple sessions in advance. Each session will be paid for separately at the start of the session.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

Things happen and we understand that, but I ask for 24 hours notice for cancelled appointments, less than that and you may be charged a cancellation fee.  A reschedule is easy though, so just let me know if you can't make it and we will agree another time slot to meet.
