My name is Nicole and I’m a registered Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I began my studies in integrative counselling, before going on to specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I hold an NCFE Level 3 award in Counselling Skills and Theory and an ASC accredited Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
I have great respect for the different therapeutic approaches. I take this into account when counselling. As a therapist one of my primary goals is to create a safe, caring and open environment where my clients feel they can be themselves.
It's important to me that I get to know my client and that together we formulate a treatment plan that suits each individual specifically. It’s imperative that we build a bond of trust, respect and understanding. This creates the framework for successful therapy. I also believe that a client should feel comfortable with the pace and direction of their own therapy. In my opinion a therapist should guide, not lead.
My focus is on helping clients become aware of how their cognitive wellbeing affects their lives, either negatively or positively. Through CBT a client can regain control of their cognitive process, thereby laying the foundation for healing and growth.
I am committed to helping my clients live a more fulfilled and happy life. I firmly believe that, with the right approach, therapy can have an immensely positive and long-lasting outcome.
